The first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) will take place in Istanbul on May 23-24 2016. Over 5,000 participants are expected to discuss and adopt more effective ways to address the suffering of millions of women, men and children affected by conflicts and disasters worldwide.
NGOs and civil society in general, as well as other stakeholders, are invited to apply to host side events, scheduled in Istanbul in parallel to the Summit’s official sessions. The WHS will feature approximately 100 side events, which will be selected based on their relevance, regional representation and gender balance. Events with multi-stakeholder co-organization will be prioritized in the selection process.
You will find on this link (only in English) more information on the application to host side events. Organizations have to register and provide basic information on the side event they wish to organize until February 12. Approved candidates will be invited to submit the full side event application until February 19. The final selection of side events will be communicated by the end of February.
