From August 15-16, 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand, approximately 100 participants from across the Asian region gathered to discuss strategy on moving forward on SDG monitoring and implementation on the national level. Relating to SDG 16 the conference developed strategies on accountability, peace and security, human rights, governance, and transparency. The first day of the conference reviewed the outcomes of CSO engagement at the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and the UN Human Rights Council. The second day, the participants furthered their development of a plan of action on SDG through dialogues with international actors such as the UN Development Group (UNDG), UN Development Program (UNDP), UN Project Office of Governance, Open Government Partnership (OGP), Asia Development Bank (ADB), to name a few. To conclude the participants broke out into sub-regional groups to develop an action plan. The program and proceedings can be found here:
