RISE&LEAD: Youth Leadership Forum on Democracy
“Empowering Youth to Lead”
What:
RISE&LEAD: Youth Leadership Forum on Democracy is a platform for youth activists from the Asia Region to gather and share and exchange their experiences with democracy and human rights activism.
Under the theme “Empowering Youth to Lead” we will be implementing a program where youth activists will share their experiences of social and political engagement and to discuss common challenges to democracy and human rights in Asia. Through this platform we will also provide skills to empower future leaders to effectively mobilize and advocate for their respective cause. Participants will also work together to develop a strategic action plan for advocacy and strengthening a youth solidarity network for democracy in Asia.
Objectives:
- Build and strengthen a solidarity network of Asian youth activists
- Learn skills to effectively mobilize and organize support for social movements and advocacies
- Expand knowledge on various social movements and advocacies across Asia
- Learn innovative strategies initiated by different civil society groups in Asia
Where:
Seoul, Gwangju and Jeju, South Korea
When:
May 13-24, 2018
Who:
Approximately 40 Young Leader Activists in Asia (preferably 20-35 years
How to Apply:
- Submit an application pack that contains the following:
- Cover letter stating your purpose for applying in the program (1 page max)
- Latest curriculum vitae
- 2 Recommendation letters

Subsidy:
A selection committee will review applications. Those selected will be provided support to participate in the forum.
