ADN is in great mourning over the loss of Nelson Mandela, an avid activist for the principles of democracy.
Working with activists to effectively end the apartheid in South Africa he paved the way for equality and democracy in his homeland.
Establishing a democratic process and being elected the first democratically elected Black President of South Africa, a progressive Constitution was written.
Even after his governance he worked tirelessly for justice and economic freedom for the poor.
His life’s work has set an example and provided hope for all parts of the world that is struggling for democracy.
We will remember his great spirit and carry on his legacy to promote equality, freedom, justice, and peace for all.
“I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”
