Dr. Kaustuv Kanti Bandyopadhyay is the Director of Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA). PRIA, a pioneer civil society organisation, based in New Delhi (India), working on citizen participation, democratic governance and civil society development since 1982. He has extensively worked on local governance, citizen participation and social accountability issues. He has also worked oncapacity building projects with particular emphasis on participatory learning, monitoring and evaluation, organisation development, strategic planning, and participatory training methodology. Currently he is serving on the Executive Committee of LogoLink – a global network on citizen participation and local governance. He has managed and supported the Global Secretariat of International Forum on Capacity Building (IFCB) at PRIA from its inception in 1998 to 2001. Based on practical experience, he has authored and published a number of articles, manuals, books and other publications mostly in Asian context.  He has studied Anthropology and has a Ph. D degree for his work with the Parhaiya tribes of Chotanagpur in India.
